Brian Hyland grew up on the water in the Shinnecock Bay, fishing, skiing, and clamming with his family and friends. He had his first boat at the age 13 and was lucky enough to get out on the water almost every day during the season. Brian had his first job at a marina at the age of 14, where he painted bottoms and pulled weeds. He knew within his first year that he absolutely was a good fit for the industry. He worked his way up to dock master in just a few years and later helped open a new marina that is now recongized as a premier marina in the Hamptons. At the age of 18, he started fishing offshore for shark and tuna and found his true passion for being out on the water. Brian's family has always had a boat due to their love of the water and in his teens and early twenties they continued to upgrade their boats. When Brian's family got the Gusto IV (45' Viking), they were fishing the Northeast canyons weekly. After a few years of learning they decided to start a Sportfishing Charter Business. Within a few years they were one of the top charter boats in the Hamptons. After graduating from New York Institute of Technology, Brian started working in the Telecommunications industry in both the sales and design tiers. He continued to run charters during this time and never left the marine industry. After some time, he decided that he wanted to work in the marine industry full time. After a few years of figuring out what he wanted to focus on, Brian decided that boat and yacht sales would be a good fit. To this day, he has never looked back or regretted his decision to sell boats for Strong's Marine. Brian says, "The best part about my job is getting out on the water and talking boats all day." Brian has a 12-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter who both have the love for the water that Brian has. Most of his childhood memories and the memories he has created with his children include boating and being on the water. Brian thanks his father greatly for introducing him to the water and all it has to offer.
